Paul Taylor’s American Modern Dance Orchestra Seats
Benefit Dancers Responding to AIDS

Friday, April 1
8 pm performance
David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, NYC

Tickets benefiting Dancers Responding to AIDS are no longer available.

The 2016 season of Paul Taylor’s American Modern Dance features two premieres by the renowned choreographer, along with 14 of his classics and works by Martha Graham, Larry Keigwin, Doug Elkins and Donald McKayle. Orchestra of St. Luke's plays live at every performance. The April 1 performance includes:

  • Taylor’s Esplanade, a signature work that brims with youthful exuberance. After exploring relationships – among friends, family, lovers – using natural movement, Taylor sends dancers hurtling fearlessly across the stage.
  • Polaris, also by Taylor, a piece that offers an opportunity to observe the multiple effects that music, lighting and individual interpretations by the performers have on a single dance.
  • World premiere by Larry Keigwin, one of the first choreographers to create a work for the company other than Taylor himself, set to a commissioned score by Adam Crystal utilizing all 16 Taylor dancers.

Program subject to change.
